Rachel Hamer Band

Friday 26 January 2018

Rachel is a powerful and emotive singer from Whitley Bay, in the North East of England. The band, comprising Grace Smith (fiddle, vocals, clog dancing), Graeme Armstrong (guitar, vocals) and Sam Partridge (flute, piano) sets the backdrop for Rachel to create a moving and intricate sound, combining their passion for traditional tunes with Rachel's extensive repertoire (courtesy of having been born and bred on the local Traditional folk scene) - innovative and exciting music not to be missed.

Archie McAllister

Friday 23 February 2018

We have managed to secure the services of elite Scots fiddler, Archie McAllister, who has been a seminal influence on many of today's young fiddlers (Archie would have been next month's guest, had it not been cancelled because of Good Friday!). Archie will be accompanied by Sileas Sinclair, the superb Connel pianist and accordionist. Another great night in prospect!

Friday 30 March 2018

Due to this being Good Friday, we have had to cancel Archie McAllister's gig at the club - see you next month (Note the change of date for June - Friday 22nd).

Dave Gibb

Friday 27 April 2018

Dave returns to Partick. A singer of songs and a teller of tales from the hills of Dumfries & Galloway who happily fingerpicks his way through life’s travails.

Songs funny or sad, happy or grim, meaningful or meaningless played fast or slow (sometimes both at the same time)…….He likes a giggle.
This will be a great night's entertainment

Laura McGhee

Friday 25 May 2018

Fiddle player Laura, originally from Dundee, has recently returned to Scotland after an extremely successful time in the U.S. Laura's music is a hybrid of influences from her Celtic roots to country and Americana. Her career in America includes gigs with legendary folk icon Pete Seeger on Broadway. Her first USA album release "Celticana" reached the top 40 of the Americana chart, and her latest record "How Leaving Feels" was also released as an E.P last year. Laura last played Partick when it was held at The Annexe, so to say that this gig is highly anticipated is a vast understatement!

Rab Noakes

Friday 22 June 2018

A huge coup for Partick Folk Club. The superb singer-songwriter Rab Noakes will guest at the club this month. Nothing more need be said - a superb night is guaranteed. NOTE THIS IS NOT THE LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH - DATE HAD TO BE CHANGED TO THE 22ND.

Singers' Night

Friday 27 July 2018

Singers' Evening
Come along to sing, play or just to listen, as resident singers and visitors put on a great night for us.

Steven Clark

Friday 31 August 2018

Glasgow songwriter/singer (as he describes himself) Steven writes superb songs, sings them, and sometimes does other people's songs as well. He writes songs of the human condition - from immigration to Irn Bru, politics to pies. He wrote the award-winning anthem (All Jock Tamson's Bairns are) Coming Home which has been covered by many artists. Expect a wonderful, entertaining night.

The Coaltown Daisies

Friday 28 September 2018

The Coaltown Daisies - Vivienne and Lynzey - are a rising duo of singer songwriters from Fife who write and perform folk, soul and Americana music on a variety of instruments. Detailing their music with dual harmonies, intelligent lyrics and raw emotion they have been described as 'spell-binding' and 'breath-taking'.

Mick West Trio

Friday 26 October 2018

We're delighted to welcome Mick back to the club after a brilliantly emotional night last year. Our dear friend and founder of the club, Mick is one of Scotland's finest singers, and will be joined by his long-time accompanists Frank McLaughlin and Stuart Hardy, whose skilful and sympathetic arrangements gel perfectly with Mick's presentation. A wonderful night in prospect!

Friday 28 December 2018
